Sometimes I think I have too much.

Ever since my house burned down,
I see the moon more clearly.

—Gregory Colbert, 'Ashes and Snow'

I think that I have too much and still I cannot part with it. I know if I just let go of some stuff and created a void that I could see the moon more clearly. Less clutter and more space. What a unique idea. It's not just the outside but the inside. If I unclutter my mind I would be able to focus on what is really important. I really need to let go of people, places, and things that no longer serve me. There is no need to think that I can control any of it anyway.
The only thing I can control are my thoughts.

I know what you mean. I have a surpise for you, stop by when you get a chance. The dolls are all wonderful!

OH how I know this dilemma! Moving as many times as I have in my life and being forced to 'declutter' prior to each one has led to regret and longing for things I 'dumped' and feel I 'need' back. For this reason, I am extremely sentimental over my 'things'...that which I have now. Acquisition is not my 'need', just holding on to my past is.

  • Don't let us get sick.
    Don't let us get old.
Don't let us get stupid, all right?
    Just make us be brave.
    And make us play nice.
And let us be together tonight.

I love people. I love my family, my children...but inside myself is a place where I live all alone and that's where you renew your springs that never dry up.
    ~ Pearl S. Buck

Ultimately, my hope is to amaze myself. The anticipation if discovering new possibilities becomes my greatest joy.
